THE PAST
My fondest memories from my childhood is of the time I spent on my slackrope after school. I would walk on that rope, fall down and get back up to try again. I wouldn't stop. I practiced in the sun, in the rain and in the snow. I was destined to become a circus artist. With my friends (not always as passionate about the subject as myself) we would create small circus shows in my backyard for the other kids in the neighborhood. The kids (and their parents) laughed with us and had a real good time in my backyard miniature circus. That passion for triggering people's emotions is still here and is what drives me and my style.
THE PRESENT
Who I am...hmm well let me start at the basics. My name is Christer but most people call me Chris. I am born in Norway in 1985. I am living in Brussels, but it seems I am spending more and more time away than at home. I love to travel and to see new places. I love the rush of adrenalin and I love to feel alive. In 2010 I am working with the French company Cirque Baroque in the show "Le Cirque des Gueux". In this contemporary show I do my act on the slackrope as well as taking part in the choreographies in the rest of the show.
THE FUTURE
I won the GOP award in the Young Stage Festival 2010 (Basel, Switzerland) with my act on the slackrope "Better With A Fish In The Hand..."! The prize is an engagement with one of the GOP varieties in Germany. This means I will probably do some variety work in 2011...

Emotion
"Le personnage le plus poétique du spectacle est sans aucun doute le peintre au poisson rouge. Comme dans une bulle à part le Norvégien Christer Pettersen campe à la perfection ce rôle tendre et attachant, sa prestation au fil souple est à la hauteur de sa prestation théâtrale et ce grand escogriffe se joue de nombreuses figures avec son bocal en équilibre ce qui ajoute à la difficulté."
